I am Julie Doel-Jones, the Managing Director of Appleton HR Limited.
I formed Appleton HR Limited in 2025 to work with people like you. People that have challenging HR problems to solve without the fluffy stuff.

We love working with businesses face to face in: Hampshire, Surrey, Dorset, Wiltshire and parts of south London. We also work with a wide variety of clients on-line. Workplace mediation and training works well in this context.

My Story
Work wise, the important stuff is that I am an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD). I'm also a Civil Mediation Council qualified workplace mediator, and hold a MBA from the University of Surrey.
As an untrained and relatively inexperienced line manager, I used to lie awake at night and worry about that disciplinary I needed to do in the morning, how I was going to manage that team member on long term sickness, or just how to have a difficult conversation with that person who constant challenge is starting to become challenging. This wasn't even my day job, I really didn't know where to start. Having some distant HR Department that outsourced it's services made me feel even more alone, and e-learning isn't going to cut it.
So I decided to try and change all that and give people a better, more business centric and helpful HR.
I have worked in a wide range of industries, from Rail and Maritime, through to crime prevention, Space, engineering, manufacturing and heritage tourism. I bring with me a wide range of experience gained from being a Special Constable, Emergency Planning and Business Continuity Manager, Heritage Railway General Manager and a microbrewer before venturing into HR.
So I know what it feels like to be at the sharp end of operations with more people problems than I could deal with!
